Juice

Juice is a 1992 crime drama set in Harlem, where four young friends who call themselves the Wrecking Crew spend their days skipping school, hanging around an arcade and stealing records. Bishop, the group's most forceful personality, pushes the others toward bigger crimes, while Q, who dreams of becoming a DJ, has a gig on the night Bishop plans a robbery. When the group targets a store, the night goes wrong, and the fallout changes the friends' relationships and pushes them toward greater violence.

The film was directed by Ernest R. Dickerson, working from a screenplay he wrote with Gerard Brown. It was his first film as director, followed later by Surviving the Game, Demon Knight, Bulletproof, Futuresport, Bones and V/H/S/Mixtape. The cast includes Omar Epps as Q, Tupac Shakur as Bishop, Khalil Kain, Jermaine Hopkins, Cindy Herron and Samuel L. Jackson, among 52 credited performers. The production, backed by Paramount, Original Film and Island World, cost about 5 million dollars and took roughly 20 million dollars worldwide.
