Mankind's Folly

Mankind's Folly is a documentary drama that explores the environmental crisis in the Arctic. Through the experiences of Martha in Alaska and Nikita in Siberia, the film examines how the land is collapsing while fossil fuel corporations expand their operations in the far north. The narrative serves as a warning about the connection between the state of the Arctic and the future of humanity.

The film was directed by Yorgos Avgeropoulos, following his previous works Muxes of Juchitán and Agora: From Democracy to the Market. It precedes his other 2026 release, La Méditerranée en feu. This production was a joint effort between Germany, Greece, and France, supported by organizations including the Greek Film Centre, RTS, ARTE GEIE, and EPT. The final movie has a runtime of 83 minutes.
