Heavy Metal 2000

Heavy Metal 2000 is set in motion when a miner named Tyler comes into contact with a shard of the Loc-Nar, a green glowing object that grants immortality to whoever wields it. The power corrupts him completely, turning him into a killer who leaves a trail of destruction across space as he searches for the fountain of youth. Along the way he attacks a colony and abducts a young woman named Kerrie. What he fails to account for is her sister Julie, the sole survivor of the massacre, who sets off across the galaxy to rescue Kerrie and take her revenge. The film is an animated science-fiction adventure, a German-Canadian co-production with a budget of 15 million dollars, released in April 2000 and running 88 minutes.

Michael Coldewey and Michel Lemire directed, with a screenplay by R. Payne Cabeen and Carl Macek, and Coldewey also producing. The voice cast is led by Michael Ironside as Tyler, Julie Strain as Julie and Billy Idol as Odin, alongside Pier Paquette, Sonja Ball and Brady Moffatt.
