Eulogy

Three generations of the Collins family gather after the death of its patriarch, Edmund, for a funeral that none of them is likely to get through gracefully. The relatives have spent years at odds with one another, and the reunion brings their grudges, secrets and complicated private lives to the surface. Among those returning home are Daniel, whose work is not what his family assumes, and Lucy, who has news of her own to share. Kate, one of the more level-headed members of the clan, ends up trying to hold the proceedings together, while Edmund's final wishes create complications for a burial that was never going to be simple.

Eulogy was released in 2004 and runs 91 minutes. It was written and directed by Michael Clancy, produced by Kirk D'Amico, Richard Barton Lewis and Lucas Foster, and made for about 10 million dollars. The large credited cast of 44 includes Hank Azaria as Daniel Collins, Zooey Deschanel as Kate Collins, Kelly Preston as Lucy Collins, Famke Janssen as Judy Arnolds, Glenne Headly as Samantha and Jesse Bradford as Ryan Carmichael. The film received a critics' rating of 4.7 out of 10 from 33 reviews, lower than its audience scores: on IMDb it holds 6.4 out of 10 from around 9,600 votes, and on TMDB it also holds 6.4 out of 10, from roughly 145 votes, indicating that viewers responded more warmly than critics did.
