Titanic

Julia Sturges, unhappily married to Richard, boards the Titanic with her two children, Annette and Norman, intending to start a new life in America. Richard secures passage on the same ship in order to reclaim custody of the children. Their family dispute is overtaken by events when the liner strikes an iceberg.

Jean Negulesco directed this 1953 drama for 20th Century Fox, with Charles Brackett producing from a screenplay he wrote with Walter Reisch and Richard L. Breen. It followed How to Marry a Millionaire in Negulesco's filmography and came before Three Coins in the Fountain. Clifton Webb and Barbara Stanwyck play Richard and Julia, with Robert Wagner, Audrey Dalton, Thelma Ritter as Maude Young and Brian Aherne as Captain Edward John Smith among the main cast.

Made for about two million dollars, the film returned roughly five million worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7 out of 10 from around 8,200 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.6 out of 10 from about 160 votes. A critics' rating of 6.9 out of 10 from 11 reviews places it near the audience scores.
