I'm Gonna Git You Sucka

Jack Spade comes home from military service to find that his old neighbourhood has changed, and that his brother has died. The death is blamed on an "overdose of gold" — too many gold chains — and the local crime boss known as Mr. Big has the area's drug trade and prostitution in his grip. Jack declares war on him, and gathers a small army of residents who want their streets back. Among them is John Slade, a hero Jack admired as a boy from the films and fights of the 1970s, who takes charge of the group.

The film is a comedy that sends up the blaxploitation pictures of that era, with an action and crime framework beneath the jokes. Keenen Ivory Wayans directed and wrote the screenplay, and also plays Jack Spade; it was the first film he directed, followed later by A Low Down Dirty Shame, Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2, White Chicks and Little Man. The cast includes Bernie Casey as John Slade, Antonio Fargas as Flyguy, Steve James as Kung Fu Joe, Isaac Hayes as Hammer and Jim Brown as Slammer.

Made for about 3 million dollars, it took roughly 13 million worldwide. Ratings are modest: on TMDB it holds 6.4 out of 10 from 222 votes, while a critics' score comes in at 5.6 out of 10 from 29 reviews, so audiences have been a little warmer towards it than reviewers.
