Jay Austin runs a used car business and has built his success on misleading customers and encouraging his sales staff to do the same. His dishonest practices and broken promises come at a cost, and over time the gap between the life he presents to others and the person he actually is becomes difficult to bear. The strain reaches into his relationships with his wife, his son and his parents, pushing him toward a reckoning with how he has been living.

Flywheel is a 2003 American drama directed by Alex Kendrick, who also wrote the screenplay with Stephen Kendrick, produced the film and stars as Jay Austin. It was Kendrick's first directorial effort, arriving three years before Facing the Giants and ahead of the later films in his directing career.
