Wuming and Dongqing arrive in a strange town where the population is trapped in an illusionary sleep. They encounter a girl named Ya, who is actually the Celestial Maiden of the Nine Heavens. Ya has been targeted by Hupo, an immortal monster who used a curse to attempt to steal Ya's body. After the curse is broken and her divine powers return, Wuming steals the Kunlun Spirit Stone and escapes. Ya takes Dongqing hostage to track him down, a journey that reveals secrets about Kunlun and a two-century-old conflict between mortals and gods.
