Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Bonds

A mysterious group of ninjas launches a surprise assault on the village of Konoha, leaving heavy damage behind and raising the prospect of another large-scale shinobi war. Naruto, Sakura and Hinata set out for a border village caught up in the crisis, where new fights and encounters await. Sasuke, who had left Konoha in pursuit of his brother Itachi, reappears before Naruto at an unknown location, and it remains unclear whether the former teammates will fight alongside each other or against one another.

This is the fifth Naruto feature and the second tied to the Shippuden storyline, released in Japanese cinemas on 2 August 2008. It was directed by Hajime Kamegaki, whose earlier credits in the facts include Naruto Shippuden the Movie from 2007, and comes between that film and Lupin the Third vs. Detective Conan in his chronological filmography. Junki Takegami wrote the screenplay, with Mikihiko Fukazawa and Shoji Matsui producing. The voice cast is led by Junko Takeuchi as Naruto Uzumaki, Noriaki Sugiyama as Sasuke Uchiha, Chie Nakamura as Sakura Haruno, Unsho Ishizuka as Shinno, Motoko Kumai as Amaru and Kazuhiko Inoue as Kakashi Hatake, among 21 credited cast members and roughly 100 credited crew.

The film took about 11 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.8 from around 6,100 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.3 from more than 500 votes.
