Laid to Rest

A young woman regains consciousness inside a coffin with a head wound and no recollection of who she is. She comes to understand that she has been taken by a serial killer, and that she must get out and stay alive. Her escape leaves her stranded in an isolated rural town, where she has to survive the night and outwit the man pursuing her before he can finish what he started.

Robert Hall directed and wrote the film, which was released in 2009 and runs 90 minutes. It is the first feature he directed, followed by ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2 in 2011. Bobbi Sue Luther, who also produced alongside Chang Tseng, plays the central character known as The Girl. The cast includes Kevin Gage, Lena Headey, Sean Whalen, Richard Lynch and Johnathon Schaech. The production involved 73 credited crew members and was handled by Dry County Films and Mutoscope Pictures.

Audience responses were moderate: the film holds a rating of 5.2 out of 10 on IMDb from around 9,600 votes, and 5.4 out of 10 on TMDB from 238 votes. A smaller group of critics rated it considerably higher, at 6.8 out of 10 from six reviews.
