Short description
A comedy-drama about best friends - one a straight woman, Abbie, the other a gay man, Robert - who decide to have a child together. Five years later, Abbie falls in love with a straight man and wants to move away with her and Robert's little boy Sam, and a nasty custody battle ensues.
What's left behind the scenes
- Rupert Everett was so horrified by the script that he initially flatly refused to act in the film. However, Paramount was so keen to get him that they promised the actor producer and screenwriter credits (and payment), as well as the right to choose his own co-star. Everett chose Madonna, with whom he had a long-standing friendship. During the production of the film, however, he was removed from his positions as producer and screenwriter.
