Man-Thing

Kyle Williams takes a job as the sheriff of Bywater, hoping for a peaceful life. However, he soon discovers the town is plagued by a series of mysterious deaths and disappearances in the nearby wetlands. While an oil tycoon seeks to drill in the area, local legends warn of a swamp creature. Kyle must investigate these events and confront Man-Thing, a plant-like monster and guardian of the marshes who burns anyone who feels fear.

Directed by Brett Leonard, this film followed his work on The Lawnmower Man, Virtuosity, and Hideaway. The cast features Matthew Le Nevez as Kyle, Rachael Taylor as Teri, and Jack Thompson as Schist. Produced by Lions Gate Films, Marvel Enterprises, Fierce Entertainment, and Artisan Entertainment, the project had a budget of 30 million USD. It performed poorly at the box office, earning only 1 million USD worldwide.

The film received low ratings from both viewers and critics. On IMDb, it holds a 4.1/10 based on 7,500 votes, and on TMDB, it has a 4.3/10 from 235 votes. Film critics gave it an even lower rating of 3.7/10 across 7 reviews.
