Graveyard Shift

John Hall is a drifter who arrives in a small Maine town and looks for work at its most prominent employer, a textile mill. He is taken on for the graveyard shift, the hours between midnight and dawn, and assigned with a small crew to clear out the mill's basement. What begins as ordinary cleanup work turns dangerous as the workers go deeper underground and find something far worse than the rats that have overrun the building.

Ralph S. Singleton directed the film, his feature debut, from a screenplay by John Esposito. The story draws on Stephen King's short story of the same name. David Andrews plays John Hall, with Kelly Wolf as Jane Wisconsky, Stephen Macht as the mill's manager Warwick, Andrew Divoff as Danson, Vic Polizos as Brogan and Brad Dourif as an exterminator. The production involved 21 credited cast members and 65 credited crew.
