This music film captures the British rock group Queen performing their most famous hits, such as Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You, before a crowd of 18,000 people. The footage was recorded on November 24 and 25, 1981, at the Forum in Montreal, Canada. These performances were the only shows the group played that year to be recorded on 35mm film, making the band the first to film an entire concert using this medium.
The film was directed by Saul Swimmer, who also produced the project alongside Jim Beach. It was the first film in a series of projects directed by Swimmer featuring the band, followed by several other Montreal-related releases and a Live Aid documentary. The cast consists of the band members Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon appearing as themselves.
Released in 1982, the movie earned 3 million USD at the worldwide box office. It has been well received by audiences on TMDB, where it holds a rating of 8.1/10 based on 41 votes.
