Set in a working-class area of Bradford, England, this drama follows two teenage outsiders, Arbor and Swifty, after they are expelled from school. The friends begin earning money by collecting and stealing scrap metal for a local dealer named Kitten. While Swifty possesses a natural talent for handling horses used in local carriage races, Arbor seeks validation from Kitten through increasingly risky behavior. This competition for the dealer's favor creates tension between the two friends, eventually leading to a tragic outcome.
The film was written and directed by Clio Barnard, marking her second feature after Bedlam. The cast stars Conner Chapman as Arbor, Shaun Thomas as Swifty, and Sean Gilder as Kitten, with supporting roles played by Lorraine Ashbourne, Ian Burfield, and Steve Evets.
