Rock On!!

Four friends who once played together in a rock band called Magik have long since gone their separate ways. Aditya, Joe, Kedar and Rob drifted apart after the group failed to turn its music into a career, and each settled into an ordinary working life: Aditya as a banker, married to Sakshi, while Joe stayed close to music even as money grew tight at home and his marriage to Debbie came under strain. When chance brings the four men back into contact, they weigh whether to reunite and give their shared dream of success another attempt, a decision that forces each of them to confront what they have settled for and what they still want.

Rock On!! was released in August 2008. It was directed by Abhishek Kapoor from a screenplay by Pubali Chaudhuri, and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani through Excel Entertainment with Reliance Entertainment. Farhan Akhtar plays Aditya, leading a cast that includes Arjun Rampal as Joe, Purab Kohli as Kedar, Luke Kenny as Rob, Prachi Desai as Sakshi and Shahana Goswami as Debbie. It was the first of the three features Kapoor has directed, ahead of Kedarnath in 2018 and Azaad in 2025.

Made for about 7 million dollars, the film runs 144 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.7 from roughly 23,000 votes, while on TMDB its rating stands at 6.9 from 114 votes, figures that point to a modest but clearly favourable response from viewers.
