Digimon: The Movie

Digimon: The Movie follows the Digidestined, children partnered with digital creatures called Digimon, as they face a new and powerful Internet Digimon that hatches and begins consuming data at an alarming rate. If it is not stopped, worldwide communication could be disrupted and computer-launched missiles could cause a global disaster. When some of the children are abducted, others must join forces with a wider international network of kids to fight back, with help from the Digimon Omnimon.

The film is an American assembly of Japanese Digimon short films, produced by Toei Animation, Toei Company, Saban Entertainment and 20th Century Fox, with Bob Buchholz and Jeff Nimoy writing the screenplay and Terri-Lei O'Malley producing. It was directed by Mamoru Hosoda, appearing fourth in his chronological filmography after Digimon Adventure and Gegege no Kitaro: Kitaro's Ghost Train, both from 1999, and ahead of Our War Game. Shigeyasu Yamauchi also directed; the facts list this as the thirteenth of fifteen films he directed, following Street Fighter Alpha: The Movie and preceding Hurricane Touchdown.

The voice cast includes Lara Jill Miller as Kari, Joshua Seth as Tai Kamiya, Bob Papenbrook as Red Greymon, David Lodge as Parrotmon, Dorothy Elias-Fahn as Tai's Mom and Michael Sorich in several roles, among 44 credited cast members and 49 credited crew.
