Air Bud: World Pup

Josh Framm has moved to a new town with his mother and sister, and he joins his school's soccer team. The squad is short on players, so it takes on Emma, a girl who has recently arrived from England and knows the game well, as well as Josh's dog Buddy. Josh and Emma become friends, and Buddy takes a liking to her golden retriever, Molly. The team pushes its way to the championship final, but the puppies born to Buddy and Molly are taken by a dogcatcher, leaving Josh, Emma and Buddy to rescue them before the decisive match.

Bill Bannerman directed this third entry in the Air Bud series, which follows the earlier films about the basketball-playing dog. It was written by Robert Vince, Mick Whiting and Anne Vince, with Ian Fodie producing, and Kevin Zegers returns as Josh alongside Dale Midkiff, Chilton Crane, Caitlin Wachs, Miguel Sandoval and Shayn Solberg.

Released in 2001 and running 82 minutes, the film is a Canadian-American family comedy. Its reception has been modest: on IMDb it holds a 4.5 rating from around 3,600 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.1 from roughly 174 votes, indicating that audiences who have seen it rate it below average.
