The House at the End of Time

Dulce lives in a large, old house with her husband Juan José and their two sons, Leopoldo and Rodrigo. She begins to experience unsettling encounters with apparitions there, and one warns her that Juan José will kill the children. When her family dies under strange circumstances, Dulce is accused of murder, convicted and imprisoned. Released thirty years later and confined to her home, she returns to the house to understand what happened that night and to face the mystery that has haunted her.

Alejandro Hidalgo wrote, produced and directed the film, his first feature, followed later by The Exorcism of God and No Voltees. Ruddy Rodríguez leads the cast as Dulce, with Gonzalo Cubero as Juan José, Rosmel Bustamante and Hector Mercado as the sons, and Guillermo García and Adriana Calzadilla in supporting roles. A Venezuelan production, it is 101 minutes long and blends drama, fantasy and horror. It grossed about 5 million dollars worldwide, a strong result for a film from the region. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.8 out of 10 from 344 votes, indicating a generally positive but not unanimous response from viewers.
