The Devil's Chair

Nick West and his girlfriend Sammy visit an abandoned psychiatric hospital to use drugs and experiment sexually. While exploring the ruins, they find a macabre device resembling a sadistic electric chair. After the machine causes a horrific incident involving Sammy, Nick is accused of her disappearance and committed to a mental institution. Years later, a psychology professor and his students bring Nick back to the asylum to investigate the occult secrets behind the device.

This 2007 horror film was directed by Adam Mason, who also co-wrote the screenplay and served as a producer. It was his first directed feature, followed by Songbird, Baby Blue, and Amerigo: The Search for the American Dream. The movie stars Andrew Howard as Nick West and Pollyanna Rose as Sammy, with supporting roles played by Olivia Hill, Nadja Brand, Louise Griffiths, and Elize du Toit.

The production was a joint effort between the United Kingdom and the United States, produced by Soho Square Films and Renegade Worldwide. Audience reception has been generally poor, as indicated by the ratings. On IMDb, the film has a score of 4.8/10 based on 3,300 votes, while it holds a 4.2/10 on TMDB from 74 votes.
