Blood Glacier is an Austrian horror film set at a climate research station high in the Alps. The technician stationed there, Janek, keeps to himself and barely tolerates the scientists who pass through. Their routine is disrupted when a red liquid seeps from a melting glacier, and it soon becomes clear that the substance has strange effects on the local wildlife, which begins to change and turn hostile. The station's occupants find themselves under threat as the situation escalates. The film is directed by Marvin Kren, who also wrote the screenplay with Benjamin Hessler. It followed his debut Schautag and Rammbock: Berlin Undead, and the facts list four films he has directed, of which this is the third. Gerhard Liebmann plays Janek, with Edita Malovčić, Hille Beseler, Peter Knaack, Felix Römer and Brigitte Kren among the cast. Helmut Grasser produced, and the film runs 98 minutes. On IMDb it holds a critics' rating of 4.5 out of 10 from 23 reviews, while on TMDB it has a rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 179 votes. The scores suggest a modest overall reception from both professionals and audiences.
