The Whole Ten Yards

The Whole Ten Yards is a comedy thriller about a former hitman whose quiet retirement is interrupted when an old acquaintance arrives asking for help. Jimmy Tudeski, once known as "The Tulip," now spends his time keeping house while his wife Jill, who aspires to work as a killer, has yet to complete a job successfully. Their routine ends when Oz Oseransky, the dentist whose fabricated dental records allowed Jimmy to fake his death, turns up needing assistance: his pregnant wife Cynthia has been taken by Hungarian gangsters. The group behind the abduction is led by Lazlo Gogolak, an old adversary of Jimmy's. Directed by Howard Deutch, the film is a sequel to The Whole Nine Yards and stands as the tenth of the twelve features he directed, following The Replacements and arriving before My Best Friend's Girl. George Gallo wrote the screenplay, and Arnold Rifkin, Elie Samaha and Allan Kaufman produced. Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry reprise their roles, joined by Amanda Peet as Jill, Natasha Henstridge as Cynthia and Kevin Pollak as Lazlo, with Frank Collison among a credited cast of 25. Made for a budget of 40 million dollars, it earned 26 million worldwide, a shortfall against its cost.
