Young Ones

Set in a future where water is a rare and precious resource, this story follows Ernest Holm, a farmer struggling to maintain his land and keep his family safe in a harsh environment. While Ernest hopes to restore the fertility of his soil, his daughter's partner, Flem Lever, uses manipulation and deceit to try and seize the property for himself. This conflict forces the family, including Ernest's son Jerome, to face violent challenges and difficult moral choices.

The film was written and directed by Jake Paltrow, marking the first entry in a list of three directorial works that also includes De Palma and June Zero. The cast features Michael Shannon, Nicholas Hoult, Elle Fanning, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. This production was a joint effort between companies from Ireland, the United States, and South Africa.
