PK

PK is an Indian science fiction comedy about an alien who lands in the desert region of Rajasthan and loses the remote control he needs to contact his spacecraft and return home. Stranded on Earth, he is known only by his initials and asks questions that no one around him has ever considered. His innocent curiosity draws him toward a television journalist, and together they examine the religious customs and beliefs that shape people's lives, a pursuit that brings him devoted friends as well as powerful opponents.

Rajkumar Hirani directed and co-wrote the film with Abhijat Joshi. It is the fourth feature he directed, following Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Lage Raho Munna Bhai and 3 Idiots, and it came before Sanju and Dunki. Aamir Khan plays the title role, with Anushka Sharma, Saurabh Shukla, Boman Irani, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt among the supporting cast.

Produced by Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Siddharth Roy Kapur, the film had a budget of about 13 million dollars and took roughly 100 million dollars worldwide, a return that reflects its wide commercial reach. On IMDb it holds 8.1 out of 10 from around 221,000 votes, and on TMDB it has 7.7 out of 10 from over 1,200 votes, while its critics' rating stands at 7.7 out of 10 from 25 reviews, placing critical and audience responses close together.
