Manila

A diverse group of German travelers is stranded in a Manila airport terminal due to a flight delay. The crowd includes a wide variety of social backgrounds, ranging from educated teachers from East Germany to sex tourists. As the wait continues, the tension rises, causing the passengers to abandon their social facades and reveal repressed hostilities and aggressive behaviors.

Directed by Romuald Karmakar, this drama is the first of two listed films in the director's career, followed by The Invisible Zoo in 2024. The screenplay was written by Karmakar and Bodo Kirchhoff.
