Booty Call

Rushon wants to take his relationship with his girlfriend Nikki further, so he arranges a date for the two of them. Nikki turns it into a double outing by bringing her outspoken friend Lysterine, and Rushon fixes her up with his crude buddy Bunz. The evening goes well enough that the four of them head back to continue it indoors, where the two men realize they lack the one thing the night requires. With the stores closed, they set off through the city on a long, chaotic hunt that keeps going wrong.

Jeff Pollack directed this 1997 American comedy, his second feature after Above the Rim (1994) and before Lost & Found (1999). Takashi Bufford and J. Stanford Parker wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes 31 credited performers. Jamie Foxx plays Bunz, Tommy Davidson plays Rushon, Vivica A. Fox plays Lysterine and Tamala Jones plays Nikki, with Scott LaRose and Ric Young in supporting roles.

Made for about 7 million dollars, the film took in roughly 20 million worldwide, a return that made it a commercial success. On IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from around 10,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.3 out of 10 from about 137 votes. A critics' rating of 4.6 out of 10 from 13 reviews suggests reviewers were less taken with it than general audiences were.
