Coherence

Coherence follows a group of eight friends who come together for a dinner party on the same night a comet passes over. As the evening goes on, their conversation turns to the comet and an old story about how such an event once left a town's residents confused and disoriented. When the power fails and only one house in the neighborhood stays lit, the friends head outside to investigate, and their sense of reality begins to come apart. The film is a science fiction thriller built around four couples whose ordinary gathering grows increasingly strange.

James Ward Byrkit wrote and directed the film, his second feature after the 2011 short Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code: Wedlocked. Lene Bausager produced, and the cast includes Emily Baldoni as Em, Maury Sterling as Kevin, Nicholas Brendon as Mike, Lorene Scafaria as Lee, Elizabeth Gracen as Beth and Hugo Armstrong as Hugh.

Released in 2014 with a runtime of 89 minutes, the film was made in the United Kingdom and the United States. It holds a rating of 7.2 on IMDb from around 171,000 votes and the same score on TMDB from a much smaller base of about 3,600. A critics' rating of 7.3 from 93 reviews places it slightly above both audience scores, indicating broad approval from reviewers as well as viewers.
