Foxy Brown

Foxy Brown is a 1974 American action-crime film directed and written by Jack Hill. Pam Grier plays the title character, a woman whose boyfriend, an undercover government agent played by Terry Carter, is killed after her brother, Link, played by Antonio Fargas, informs on him to local criminals. Swearing revenge, Foxy poses as a high-class call girl to work her way into the circle of the drug bosses responsible, only to find that the corruption reaches further than she expected. Her pursuit takes her from a remote drug laboratory to a confrontation aboard an aircraft. Peter Brown, Kathryn Loder and Harry Holcombe round out the main cast, and Buzz Feitshans produced.

The film was released on April 5, 1974 and runs 94 minutes. It followed Hill's Coffy, also starring Grier, and preceded Switchblade Sisters in a run of films he directed that began with The Terror in 1963. Foxy Brown sits alongside Coffy and Switchblade Sisters as one of several women-led genre pictures Hill made in the early and mid-1970s.
