Earth Girls Are Easy

Earth Girls Are Easy follows Valerie, a manicurist in Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley, whose wedding plans falter when she catches her fiancé Ted cheating on her. Not long after, a damaged spaceship belonging to three furry aliens lands in her backyard pool. Valerie and her friend Candy take the visitors to a beauty salon, where shaving them reveals three handsome human-looking men beneath the fur. Having learned about Earth life largely from television, the newcomers set out to sample the local dating scene, and one of them, Mac, grows close to Valerie.

The film was directed by Julien Temple, its third feature after Absolute Beginners and Aria. Julie Brown, Terrence E. McNally and Charlie Coffey wrote the screenplay, and Tony Garnett produced. Geena Davis plays Valerie, with Jeff Goldblum as Mac, Jim Carrey as Wiploc and Damon Wayans as Zeebo. Julie Brown appears as Candy Pink and Michael McKean as Woody, among a credited cast of 54.

Made for around 10 million dollars, the film returned roughly 4 million at the worldwide box office. Its audience rating on TMDB stands at 5.6 out of 10 from 419 votes, while a film critics' rating of 5.5 out of 10 from 37 reviews places the two measures close together.
