Jungle Book

Released in 1942, Jungle Book is an American adventure film based on Rudyard Kipling's stories of a boy raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. Lost as a toddler, Mowgli grows up among wild animals and is later found by villagers and brought back to human society, where he is reunited with his widowed mother, Messua. Tension mounts between the jungle he grew up in and his own kind, as a tiger hunts the wolves and greedy villagers eye the gold of an ancient ruined city. Mowgli finds himself caught between these two worlds and must decide where he belongs.

The film was directed by Zoltan Korda, his third feature after Elephant Boy (1937) and The Four Feathers (1939), and produced by his brother Alexander Korda through Alexander Korda Films. It was shot in Technicolor and stars Sabu as Mowgli, alongside Joseph Calleia, John Qualen, Frank Puglia, Rosemary DeCamp and Patricia O'Rourke. The film runs 106 minutes.
