Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead follows two groups whose paths cross in the forests of West Virginia: a young woman named Fonda and her friends, whose camping trip turns into a fight for survival, and a prison transport that comes under attack in the same woods. A corrections officer, Nate Wilson, escapes into the trees with several dangerous convicts, and the survivors must contend with Three Finger, a disfigured cannibal who hunts them one by one. The film is the third entry in the Wrong Turn series.
Declan O'Brien directed, working from a screenplay by Connor James Delaney, with Jeffery Beach and Phillip J. Roth producing. Tom Frederic plays Nate and Janet Montgomery plays Alex, alongside Louise Cliffe, Jack Gordon, Emma Clifford and Todd Jensen. The production, mounted by Summit Entertainment, Constantin Film and BUFO across Germany, Bulgaria and the United States, had a budget of 3 million dollars. It runs 91 minutes.
This was the first Wrong Turn film O'Brien directed, and he returned for the two following installments before moving on to Joy Ride 3. Reception has been weak: critics gave it 2.4 out of 10 across five reviews, while audiences were somewhat less harsh, with 4.6 out of 10 on IMDb from around 32,000 votes and 5.7 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly 1,320 votes.
