Short description

A young park ranger named Danielle works in a remote national park while dealing with the grief of a friend's death. After tourists begin disappearing under mysterious circumstances, she discovers that a lethal predator is hunting in the forest. As the creature targets her and others, it becomes clear that the entity is not a natural animal but a demon linked to ancient indigenous myths and prophecies. Danielle finds herself isolated and hunted by the monster in the wilderness.

This 2005 horror film was produced by Centaurus Films and Cannell Films, with Michael Dubelko and Stephen J. Cannell serving as producers. It marks the first of 15 films directed by Steven R. Monroe, who later directed Ice Twisters in 2009. The movie stars Cerina Vincent as Danny St. Claire, alongside Dominic Zamprogna, Greg Kean, Eric Schweig, Matthew Jordon, and Miranda Frigon.

Produced on a budget of 1 million USD, the film has received a moderate response from its audience. On TMDB, it holds a rating of 5.1/10 based on 58 votes.

What's left behind the scenes

  • After filming 'Fever', actress Serina Vincent was hesitant to act in another horror movie; however, upon reading the script, she immediately became interested in the character and the acting challenges she would face.
  • Serina Vincent was director Steven R. Monroe's first choice for the lead role, as he believed the actress could not only attract the attention of both sexes but also handle the film's dramatic scenes.
  • The 8-meter-high ranger station tower was built in two stages. It is shown fully assembled in a few shots, but most of the scenes were filmed while the station was still on the ground.
