Rudderless
Short description
A grieving father struggles with the loss of his son and finds himself in a downward spiral. Upon discovering a collection of his deceased son's lyrics and demo recordings, he is surprised by the young man's hidden musical talent. In an attempt to find emotional peace and meaning, he forms a band to perform the songs.
Directed by William H. Macy, this 2014 American comedy-drama was the first of three films he directed, followed by The Layover and Krystal. The film stars Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Felicity Huffman, and Selena Gomez. It was produced by several companies, including Unified Pictures and Dog Pond Productions, with a budget of 5 million USD.

- Billy Crudup sings and plays the guitar himself. The actor learned to play the guitar while filming the musical comedy "Almost Famous" (Cameron Crowe, 2000). He enjoyed it so much that now in his free time he happily picks up the guitar.
- Sam's boat is moored to the shore on Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City. Later, however, the group performs in the city of Guthrie, which is located approximately 50 kilometers north of Oklahoma City.
