In northern Paris, a shortage of high-quality drugs leads to chaos as addicts raid pharmacies and various ethnic and political gangs clash. Vincent, a police inspector and former gangster from Marseille, attempts to restore order with the assistance of a drug-addicted prostitute and former associate known as L'Arbalète. While Vincent generally prefers a gentle approach, he is capable of violence when necessary. He is contrasted by a brutal, racist colleague and Algerian War veteran whose motivations may extend beyond law enforcement. Some accounts suggest a conflict where a police officer manipulates rival gangs for personal revenge.
The action crime film was directed by Sergio Gobbi, following his 1968 work Sin with a Stranger. The screenplay was written by Gobbi and Daniel Ubaud. The cast features Daniel Auteuil, Marisa Berenson, and Marcel Bozzuffi. Produced by Nicole Gobbi and created by CCF and Candice Productions, the film has a runtime of 90 minutes. Audience reception has been mediocre, with a rating of 4.6/10 on IMDb based on 177 votes and a 5.1/10 on TMDB from 15 votes.
