Legendary Assassin

A professional killer arrives on a small island near Hong Kong to carry out a hit on a local crime boss. He succeeds, but a typhoon halts the ferries, leaving him stranded with the severed head of his target and the dead man's gang closing in on the same island. During his forced stay he befriends a young local police officer and keeps his real identity from her, even helping her subdue escaped convicts. Once the body is discovered and the killers come looking for whoever beheaded their leader, suspicion falls on the stranger and he disappears, drawing both the gang and the police into a hunt across the island while the officer refuses to believe him guilty.

Released in 2008, the film is a Hong Kong action crime thriller directed by Nicky Li Chung-Chi and Wu Jing. It stands first in the directing credits listed for Wu Jing, ahead of Wolf Warrior and its sequel. Wu Jing stars as Ah Bo, alongside Celina Jade as Hiu Wor, with Noriko Aoyama, Alex Fong Lik-Sun, Ronald Cheng and Sammy Leung among a credited cast of 45. Fung Chih-chiang wrote the screenplay and Ng See-Yuen produced.
