Short description
An ambitious American businessman from New York seeks to secure a lucrative contract with a wealthy Arab sheikh. The sheikh is an avid pigeon racer who desires a specific champion bird from Flanders, but the owner has consistently refused to sell it. To win the client's business, the businessman travels to a small Flemish village to convince the stubborn owner to part with the animal. While attempting to complete his mission, he finds himself falling in love with the owner's granddaughter.
Directed and written by Dominique Deruddere, this romance was the first of two listed films in the director's career, preceding The Chapel. The production was a joint effort between Germany and Belgium, involving Kanakna Productions, Otomatic, and Twenty Four 9 Films. The movie stars Jamie Dornan as the businessman, Charlotte De Bruyne as Isabelle Pauwels, Jan Decleir as Jos Pauwels, and Ali Suliman as the sheikh. Supporting roles are played by Josse De Pauw and Viviane de Muynck.
