Cabin Boy

Nathaniel Mayweather is a pampered young man who has just finished a course in etiquette and expects to take up a position at his father's hotel in Hawaii. Arrogant and used to being served, he boards the wrong vessel and ends up on a battered fishing boat rather than a luxury liner. The crew of weathered sailors wants nothing to do with him and regards him as bad luck. Since he cannot get them to take him where he wants to go, he has to earn his place among them.

Cabin Boy is a 1994 comedy directed by Adam Resnick, who also wrote the screenplay. Tim Burton and Denise Di Novi produced it, and the cast is led by Chris Elliott as Nathaniel, with Ritch Brinkley, James Gammon, Brian Doyle-Murray, Brion James and Melora Walters. The film mixes comedy with fantasy and romance, and runs eighty minutes.
