The Big Green

A British exchange teacher named Anna Montgomery arrives in a small Texas town where the local way of life is under pressure and her students have little to look forward to. Looking for a way to lift their spirits, she introduces them to soccer, a game they have never taken seriously. The children are hopeless at first, unable to string together a pass, but Anna persuades the town sheriff, Tom Palmer, a former high school football star, to help coach them. Together they build the players' confidence and steer them toward a match against a rival team.
