Black Scorpion

Darcy Walker works as a police officer in Los Angeles, and by night she takes on a different identity as the costumed crime fighter Black Scorpion. When she learns that a deranged scientist with asthma intends to contaminate the city's air with a toxin, she sets out to stop him, aided by a small-time thief named Argyle.

The film was directed by Jonathan Winfrey from a screenplay by Craig J. Nevius, with Mike Elliott producing for Showtime Networks and Concorde-New Horizons. Joan Severance plays Darcy, and the cast includes Bruce Abbott, Rick Rossovich, Stephen Lee, Anita Hart and Ashley Peldon, among 25 credited performers and 42 credited crew members. It runs 92 minutes and belongs to the action and science fiction genres.

Audience response has been modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 10 from around 1,400 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.5 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 32 votes. The two scores agree that the film drew limited enthusiasm from viewers. It was released on 22 August 1995.
