Hideaway

Hatch Harrison, an antiques dealer, is driving with his wife Lindsey and their teenage daughter Regina when their car goes off the road. Lindsey and Regina escape, but Hatch does not, and he is revived only after a doctor named Jonas Nyebern brings him back following roughly two hours in which he showed no signs of life. He recovers physically, yet something has come back with him: he is troubled by visions of violence seen as if through another person's eyes. The killings in those visions turn out to be real, the work of a serial killer, and the link between the two men draws the danger toward Hatch and those close to him.

Brett Leonard directed the film, which followed The Lawnmower Man and Virtuosity in his filmography; the screenplay is credited to Andrew Kevin Walker and Neal Jimenez. Jeff Goldblum plays Hatch, with Christine Lahti as Lindsey, Alicia Silverstone as Regina, Jeremy Sisto as the killer Vassago and Alfred Molina as Jonas. TriStar Pictures released it in March 1995, and it runs 103 minutes.

Made for about 15 million dollars, the film returned roughly 12 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 5.3 rating from around 8,000 votes, and on TMDB a 5.2 from 174 votes. A critics' score of 3.7 out of 10 from 13 reviews places it somewhat below even those modest audience figures.
