A cruel April Fools' prank at a school ends in an accident in the chemistry lab, leaving student Marty badly disfigured. Years later, a group of former classmates returns to the now-closed school for a reunion, only to find that they have been gathered there for a different reason. Someone who remembers what happened to Marty is waiting for them, and the night turns into a fight to survive.
Slaughter High was released in 1986 and runs 91 minutes. It is a British-American horror production from Vestron Pictures and Spectacular Trading International, made for about 1 million dollars. Mark Ezra directed it, working from a screenplay he wrote with George Dugdale and Peter Mackenzie Litten, and it is the first of the two films Ezra directed, ahead of Savage Hearts. Dick Randall and Stephen Minasian produced, and the cast includes Caroline Munro as Carol, Simon Scuddamore as Marty, Carmine Iannaccone, Donna Yeager, Gary Martin and Billy Hartman.
The film received a critics' rating of 3.7 out of 10 from five reviews, while audiences rate it somewhat more favourably: 5.3 out of 10 on IMDb from around 7,800 votes and 5.8 out of 10 on TMDB from 159 votes. Both figures place it in the middle range for the genre.
