Magda, a teacher and mother to a ten-year-old boy named Dani, discovers a lump in her breast and is told she will need surgery followed by chemotherapy. At one of Dani's soccer games she meets Arturo, a talent scout who is dealing with a devastating loss of his own. The two form a bond as Magda confronts her illness, drawing strength from her son, her doctor and the people close to her. The film follows her struggle and the relationships that sustain her through it.

Julio Medem directed and wrote the film, which came after Room in Rome and before The Tree of Blood in the six features he has directed. Penélope Cruz plays Magda and also produced alongside Medem and Álvaro Longoria; Luis Tosar plays Arturo, with Asier Etxeandia, Teo Planell, Silvia Abascal and Àlex Brendemühl in supporting roles. The Spanish-French production was released in September 2015 and took about 1 million USD worldwide.
