Deathstalker II: Duel of the Titans follows a wandering warrior who comes to the aid of Reena, a seer who has run into trouble. She asks for his help with a larger task: she claims to be Princess Evie, whose kingdom was taken from her by the sorcerer Jarek, and she says he abducted and cloned her to secure his rule. She and Deathstalker set out for Jarek's stronghold to put her back on the throne, contending with the sorcerer's henchmen, pirates, Amazons and other hazards along the way. Jarek rules alongside Sultana, and the struggle between the two sides builds toward a final confrontation.
The film is a 1987 release directed by Jim Wynorski, the second of the twenty-two features he directed in chronological order, arriving between Chopping Mall and The Return of Swamp Thing. Neil Ruttenberg wrote the screenplay and Frank K. Isaac produced. John Terlesky plays Deathstalker, with Monique Gabrielle as Reena, John Lazar as Jarek, Toni Naples as Sultana, María Socas as the Amazon Queen and Marcos Woinsky as a pirate. The production was an Argentine and American co-production running seventy-seven minutes, blending action, adventure, comedy and fantasy.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.2 out of 10 from roughly 4,600 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.7 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 145 votes. The two audiences are broadly in agreement, placing the film as modestly received genre entertainment rather than a standout.
