Wishmaster 3: Beyond the Gates of Hell

Wishmaster 3: Beyond the Gates of Hell is a 2001 fantasy horror thriller set at Baxter University in Illinois. Diana Collins, a diligent student, works with her professor Joel Barash on a museum exhibition and comes across an ancient relic that holds a malevolent Djinn. By opening it, she frees the creature, which takes on the professor's appearance. The Djinn sets out to force Diana to make three wishes, which would unleash darkness on the world, and those close to her are soon in danger. Diana must find a way to stop the Djinn before she runs out of choices.

Chris Angel directed the film, the first of two Wishmaster entries he made in consecutive years, followed by Wishmaster: The Prophecy Fulfilled in 2002. Alex Wright wrote the screenplay, with Gary Howsam, Gilles Paquin and Craig Nicholls producing. A.J. Cook plays Diana, Jason Connery plays Professor Barash, and Tobias Mehler, Louisette Geiss, Aaron Smolinski and Daniella Evangelista appear in supporting roles.

Made on a budget of about 2 million US dollars and shot in Canada as a co-production with the United States, the film runs 89 minutes. Audience response has been modest: on IMDb it holds a rating of 3.6 from roughly 5,800 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 4.4 from around 212 votes, indicating a small and largely unfavorable turnout.
