Island of Terror

A small island off the coast of Ireland becomes the setting for a series of strange deaths. A farmer's body is found with every bone removed, and the local doctor, Reginald Landers, cannot explain what happened. He travels to the mainland to seek help from Dr. Brian Stanley and Dr. David West, who bring along Toni Merrill, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, using her father's helicopter to reach the island. The three scientists soon learn that the deaths are connected to experiments conducted by a cancer researcher living on the island, and that the creatures responsible are still active and multiplying.

Island of Terror is a British horror and science fiction film directed by Terence Fisher, released in 1966. It was the twelfth of the sixteen films he directed in chronological order, coming after Dracula: Prince of Darkness and before Frankenstein Created Woman. The screenplay was written by Al Ramsen and Edward Mann, and Tom Blakeley produced it for Planet Film Productions and Protelco. Peter Cushing stars as Dr. Brian Stanley, with Edward Judd as Dr. David West, Carole Gray as Toni Merrill, Eddie Byrne as Dr. Reginald Landers, Sam Kydd as Constable John Harris and Niall MacGinnis as Mr. Roger Campbell. Running 89 minutes, the film holds a rating of 6.1 out of 10 on IMDb from around 4,700 votes, and 5.9 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller number of votes, indicating a modest but enduring reputation among genre audiences.
