Tomorrow's Joe 2: The Movie

Six months after a tragic accident during a fight with Rikiishi, Joe returns to boxing. Although he initially finds success with several knockout victories using body blows, he struggles with a psychological barrier that prevents him from striking opponents in the face. This hesitation leads to a defeat against the national champion, Tiger Ozaki. To help Joe overcome his trauma and advance toward regional and world rankings, Youko, the owner of a gym and Joe's love interest, recruits Carlos Rivera, a world-ranked boxer from Venezuela.

Directed by Osamu Dezaki, this 1981 Japanese production was the first in a series of films he directed, followed by works such as Space Adventure Cobra and Black Jack: The Movie. Dezaki also co-wrote the screenplay with Ikki Kajiwara. The voice cast features Teruhiko Aoi as Joe Yabuki, alongside Jūkei Fujioka, Toshiyuki Hosokawa, Fumi Dan, Shiro Kishibe, and Masumi Okada.
