Grace is a horror thriller about a sheltered young woman who leaves her strict religious upbringing for college life. Grace, a freshman, is unprepared for the partying, casual sex and drug use around her, and her outgoing roommate pulls her in directions she never expected. Soon a demonic presence takes control of her body and drives her toward excess and destruction, leaving the people close to her struggling to reach her as her behaviour grows unrecognisable. Much of the story is told from Grace's own perspective, following her as the possession takes hold.
The film was released in 2014 and runs 87 minutes. It was directed by Jeff Chan, who wrote the screenplay with Chris Paré; it was the first film he directed, ahead of Code 8 (2016), Code 8 (2019) and Code 8 Part II (2024). Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Chris Ferguson produced, and the cast includes Alexia Fast as Grace, Joel David Moore as Luke, Lin Shaye as Helen, Alexis Knapp as Jessica, Brett Dier as Brad and Alan Dale as Father John.
Viewer scores diverge sharply: it holds 9.3 out of 10 on IMDb from a small number of votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5 out of 10 across a considerably larger sample.
