Dr. Slump: Hoyoyo! Space Adventure

A teacher named Midori Yamabuki is called back to her home planet, only to find that the summons is a trick set by the galactic warlord Dr. Mashirito. Senbei Norimaki sets out into space with a group of his students, among them his robot daughter Arale, to bring her home.

The 1982 Japanese animated film runs 90 minutes and mixes adventure, comedy, fantasy and science fiction. It was directed by Akinori Nagaoka and written by Tomoko Konparu, Michiru Shimada and Toshiki Inoue, with animation by Toei Animation. The voice cast includes Kenji Utsumi as Senbei Norimaki, Mami Koyama as Arale Norimaki, Yasuo Yamada as Dr. Mashirito, Mariko Mukai as Midori Yamabuki, Kazuko Sugiyama as Akane Kimidori and Kinoko Sarada, and Naomi Jinbo as Peasuke Soramame, Aoi Kimidori and Momotaro.

The film is the earliest of three features directed by Nagaoka, followed by Go! Anpanman: The Shining Star's Tear in 1989 and Go! Anpanman: The Secret of Tsumiki Castle in 1992, placing it at the start of his work in feature animation. Released in July 1982, it belongs to the first wave of films based on the Dr. Slump series.
