An FBI agent has spent years pursuing a wanted killer, and his efforts finally pay off when the criminal is caught and put on a flight to New York to be tried. The transfer goes wrong when the prisoner escapes his escort, seizes the aircraft with help from other inmates and threatens to send it down over a populated area. The agent who caught him works from the ground to stop the attack.
Sonic Impact is a 2000 American action film directed by Rodney McDonald, his fourth feature after Fallout, Nautilus and Deep Core, all released within the two years before it. Sean McGinly wrote the screenplay, and Jim Wynorski and Alison Semenza produced it for Phoenician Entertainment. James Russo leads the cast as Agent Nick Halton, with Ice-T as Agent Taja, Michael Harris as Jeremy Barrett, Sam Anderson, Dean Norris and Brittany Daniel in supporting roles.
The film runs 94 minutes. Reception from audiences has been weak: on IMDb it holds a rating of 4.2 from 578 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.6 from a much smaller base of 14 votes, so the higher figure rests on limited input and the larger sample points to a modest response overall.
