Kidnap

Karla Dyson is a single mother who takes her young son, Frankie, to a local amusement park. When he vanishes among the crowds, she spots strangers forcing him into a car and driving away. Unable to stop the vehicle, she gives chase in her minivan, and when the authorities prove slow to act, she takes the pursuit into her own hands, determined to get her son back before the kidnappers disappear with him.

Luis Prieto directed the film, which followed his 2012 debut Pusher and came before Shattered and Last Stop: Rocafort St. The screenplay is by Knate Gwaltney, and Halle Berry stars as Karla, with Sage Correa as Frankie, alongside Chris McGinn, Lew Temple, Jason George and Christopher Berry. Berry also produced with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.

Released in August 2017, the thriller runs 95 minutes and was made for about 21 million dollars, earning roughly 35 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.9 out of 10 from more than 38,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.3 from over 1,300 votes. A critics' rating of 4.4 out of 10 from 94 reviews places it below both audience scores.
